And so to Venice, which I’ve been pottering with for several days. Only a day and a bit there as I've visited before (I will arrive mid to late afternoon from Lucca), and the main highlight for me is Basilica di San Marco. It’ll be horribly crowded, but it’s somewhere I have to go. No photos, and no bags (of any sort as far as I can see) inside. And you’re meant to be out in 10 minutes!
Living five to ten minutes walk away my current plan is to get up early and go out photographing in the Piazza and by the lagoon, then home for breakfast, then back to the Piazza without the camera bag by 9:15 or 9:30 (it opens at 9:45). After that, where to go, to see good things but not be tied up ticking boxes?
